“Bout the Bass” no treble

Too much turkey, too much wind, but never enough days in the year to fish fish fish!

I had great groups, lots of friends and family and even the boss and I took some quality time on land. That can be more precious when you tend to work high season and almost all the holidays.

Just enough chill placed us rockfishing with casting as well as trolling gear. Ugly stick or penn rod it didn’t matter.

When they finally began to move-birds or no-you could follow the bending of the poles. Mini “me”as well as adult made their way aboard. Juveniles were released back.

That was the triple and double hook ups we started out with. Younger rockfish were all incredibly fat and healthy and promise to be a great stock if the tributaries keep their health.

Adult rock chased the minnows about and put a good bend on the pole. Mixed in with everything else it was what kept you slapping the rigs back in the water.

I had yet to break out trebles on the hook up as we are trying to keep it light! Winds breezed up but as we approach Monday it should be fine. Rain is in the forecast shortly (three days???). If you are here and would like to try it, be glad to tomorrow. Beyond that best to call and see just when these fish might move on up the tributaries. Thank you to all the family/friend and family competitions we had this year! I see next year’s rematch already! As promised (I was traveling last year during rockfish season) I will be here to keep them HONEST lololol.

Safe Travels-good health
