Round two! If you had friends here last week know that some parts of our island saw 20 inches, 12 inches, even 16 inches of rain , rain, rain! Did we fish? Well, cancelled some due to wind (not rain) and fished the rest! We were pouting that we had to leave the ribbons behind as conditions have changed on half days and shoved that species down.
Doesn’t mean they won’t pop back up. For now, we fish , switch, fish switch, and then do our best to hook it.
I had regulars who poncho’d up, came on back, and we did the troll and the bottom in one shot! My boys are great at hooking them and taking a page to be in the moment. Watching them would blow the stereotype of always being “plugged in” to shame!
You can’t make it up. Stuck in the cottage? Nope. Saving sunshine for the beach? Yep.
Do fish know it is raining? Most of the time nope. We had a few breaks towards week’s end which finally lent to some easier work for fish coming over the boards.
Our phone has been on fire every time the sunshine hits the beach lol. If we have missed you at the last minute we know you had a great time no matter where you were. As the seas laid down, the bait organized we saw another switch; the Drum switch got flipped.
Last few days have been a derby but in quieter moments, it has been great to just cast and breathe. Although they don’t always show (some days you see them some days not), it has been great when it works! Remember: release only as they are too BIG to keep…i know…calm down it is the law! lol
