As promised let me catch you up on the catching of late! We came off of what was Jose to sunshine, blue skies, 80′s and great crews!
Congrats to Anthony who got married here on the day that the hurricane passed by! They sprayed glued his hat on I think he told me! Married, happy, and then fishing with some good folks who knew how to just chill, put their rigs out and go.
Lots of bites even with the water in that chocolate milk stage. Anthony has fished us before and what I appreciate is we just figure our strategy and either hit it or call it. Like he said; for him fishing was just getting out on the boat and putting that line in. Sign me up! See my Viking Crew Below. So love hanging with them.
Ocean remained big and we began to work it up backside. Towards the end of week still in the sunshine and great temps we were tearing up the release rockfish.
Small rock (all mixed up) kept us on our feet and I think the fish knew the season was still closed because they ate the hair off the bucktails!Complaints? No way! We could not jump quick enough! Not always like that so I will definitely take it!
My anglers later picked a great catch of speckled trout that we had in addition to the rock fishing. As we got our ugly sticks in tow for the second half of my all day trip we put the count out to see what would be on the buffet.
Blown out from the gulf did not deter my crew. They had one time to fish and we were having a ball be it rock, specks, learning what is what on the bottom in our area.
The ocean. Wave height is set to increase and that puts us way out of that venue until Maria passes early next week and the Atlantic settles down. I have nothing open save tomorrow (Sunday) until later next week. I want to see what is what. In the mean time, enjoy the beach, the sunshine, the waves & surf and friends/family. After tomorrow as we set again to fish be it backside or ocean we will let you know!
tight lines and thank you to all who kept me out of the dock and changing gear this week! Hair on fire attitude means we were shifting and enjoying it!
